There are wild theories that there was a war on Mars and that remnants of aliens had to flee to Phobos or Earth. Early nuclear blasts on Earth are put down to aliens (gods) having a war here. Have aliens been hidden on Earth all the time?
Alternatively, the asteroid belt is the result of a minor planet being blown up and part of it formed our moon which is surprisingly larger than expected, relative to the normal ratio of a moon to a planet.
