Transpermia and the start of life

Did life on Earth start by transpermia (biolgical material arriving from space)?

The original theory of a biological "soup" developing independently on Earth (and therefore on any other suitable planets too) is being questioned.

Perhaps life arrived on asteroids or comets - but that then raises the question of where or how life started on the first occasion billions of years ago somewhere else in the universe.

It's a more understandable theory that life starts anywhere. If life travels on asteroids and comets but is not created on them, the first creation is not imaginable unless it's just by God.
